Day 3 heading North

Here we are at day 3 but only our second post! Naughty me, I was too busy having fun and relaxing 😎 at Dellie's to write a day 2 post!

So what happened?

We relaxed, chatted, made gingerbread,  relaxed some more, generally had a good time and finished off day 2  with a Christmas lights tour of Medowie. What a blast having Aimee, Lewis and Bianca in the car singing out Christmas carols full belt as we found some pretty beautiful light displays. My favourite Carol of the night would have to be "All I want for Christmas is you"! That coupled with watching the kids chase the laser lights was loads of fun!

Brett relaxing

About to go out to check out the Christmas lights.

Today we bid Dellie and Bianca farewell as we headed on the camel train to Yamba (lucky for Lewis, Brett was more willing to make pit stops -although one stop actually made Lewis's eyes sting the pit toilet was horrid!)

What we knew was going to be a longish day drive actually started off reasonably well, we were making great time until we hit the roadworks (not that there was any work being done at any of the sites). It took us over an hour and ten minutes to travel from Kempsey to Macksville, about 50 km.
All up our travels took about 8 1/2 hours.

Having a picnic lunch at Kempsey made it really feel like we were back into our road trip mode. Leftover ham and roast pork made it feel Christmassy

A sneaky pic with the Big Banana behind us, we only had a quick wee stop and didn't have time for a traditional shot (we did get one earlier in the year on our last trip)

It was nice to arrive in Yamba, we had a yummy fish &schipperke/seafood dinner followed by a quick drive around town to see the place, which looks quite nice, it's a pity we won't get to see too much more of it!
